A very peculiar passenger entered a Warsaw city bus line 116 on Thursday (September 1), but shortly after was "asked" to leave, as it was - literally - a black sheep. The animal and its owner boarded the bus at Krakowskie Przedmieście, but managed to travel only to the next stop.
Warsaw bus operator MZA (Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe) said on Facebook that "the expressions on passengers' faces were priceless". "The sheep and its owner entered the 116 line bus yesterday afternoon at Krakowskie Przedmieście. After travelling to the next stop they were asked to leave public transport. Order regulations were the reason, as they only allow transport of domestics pets," MZA spokesperson Adam Stawicki informed.
"A passenger may carry luggage in vehicles and animals, if it is possible to place the luggage and animals in the vehicle in such a way that it shall not burden the passage or cause risk of damage to the people and other passengers’ property, or obscure the visibility for the vehicle’s staff, or endanger traffic safety" - we read in Warsaw public transport binding order regulations.
Furthermore, according to the regulations, passengers are also allowed to transport "small pets if they are not burdensome and are placed in a suitable for an animal basket, box, cage etc. ensuring the safety of the passengers and the animals".
