The National Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa (in Greater Poland Voivodeship) had two of the most unusual guests: a duck and a goose. According to their owner, the waterfowl rode on a train with him and his dog. "I couldn't believe it, and I work at the agriculture museum and have seen a lot already," says the museum curator.
On Saturday (Feb. 25), a man came to the National Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa together with dog, duck and goose. He told the museum staff that they had all arrived there by train.
"This gentleman arrived here around 10 a.m. and toured (the museum - edit.) until the end of the day, that is until 3 p.m." - says Agnieszka Floryszczak of the National Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa. "Not only did they visit our inn and eat dinner there, but they also went to see our farm animals, so the duck and the goose could say hello to their colleagues," she added.
Floryszczak admits that the sight of tourists with their pets is nothing special, but never has she seen a duck and a goose among the visitors. "I couldn't believe it, and I work at the agriculture museum and have seen a lot already. First of all, I though that this gentleman came here by car, but it turned out he arrived with these animals on a train. Secondly, this duck and this goose - even better than the dog that was on a leash - they walked step by step on these little feet next to their owner," she says. The museum also shared this unusual story on social media.
The museum curator also said the owner of the animals was a very open person and told her about the aim of his visit. "He has begun his tournée across museum and folk parks as he collects ancient varieties of seeds, which can only be found at such institutions. Asked why he had come with a duck and a goose, he said they got so used to him that they just wouldn't stay home alone," said Agnieszka Floryszczak of the National Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa.
