After Ukraine has been attacked by Russia, the Western countries have been supporting Kiev by sending weapons. One European leader, however, decided not to help Ukraine this way - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. "We find this attitude surprising, but it is Hungary's business and its national interest," said Deputy Speaker of the Sejm and chief of PiS parliamentary club Ryszard Terlecki.
Ryszard Terlecki was asked by reporters on Monday if sanctions imposed on Russia by the West were meeting Poland's expectations. "Poland's demands are more far-reaching, but we're happy that the EU has finally understood its mistakes, that the West understood them, and now stands firmly in solidarity with Ukraine," the chief of PiS parliamentary club said.
He was also asked on his opinion regarding Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's decision not to send weapons to Ukraine. "I evaluate it the way one should evaluate an attitude of a leader of a friendly state. We find it surprising that Hungary does not support Ukraine so firmly, but it is Hungary's business and its, so to speak, national interest," Terlecki said.
