The minister was relating to a comment made by White House chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci who said on Sunday that 99.2 percent of Americans who had died because of COVID-19 were unvaccinated.
"The overwhelming proportion of people who get into trouble are the unvaccinated, which is the reason why we say this is really entirely avoidable and preventable" - Fauci said in NBC's "Meet the Press".
"It's really sad and tragic that most all of these are avoidable and preventable" - he added.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki also commented on Dr Fauci's words, stressing that vaccinated people were much more safer. "Do we need better statistics? Is there any stronger data than this?" - he asked.
The prime minister added that the government was preparing for a worst-case scenario, but also stressed it could be avoided.
"We can avoid it with through forethought, vaccinations, and by observing COVID restrictions that are in place" - Morawiecki said.
"Most forecasts agree on the fact that at the turn of September and October, or November, we may have to deal with another acceleration and we must treat that as the most likely scenario" - Adam Niedzielski said.
