"Two Polish women, one of them with her husband, were evacuated from Afghanistan in a flight organised by an allied country. One journalist refused to board the plane, but we will try to convince her to return in a Polish aircraft," Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz informed on Tuesday. PM Morawiecki said that Polish military aircraft were on route to Kabul to help in the evacuation.
After a swift offensive on Sunday, the Taliban have taken the Afghani capital city Kabul. Taking advantage of the withdrawal of international armed forces led by the U.S., the Islamist militants are taking over control over the country. Many countries are evacuating its diplomats and civilians from Kabul.
MFA: two Polish women evacuated from Kabul
Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister said on Tuesday afternoon that two Polish women were evacuated from Afghanistan. He added that they would be in a safe place in a matter of hours.
"We had three seats to offer. One person, a journalist, refused to board the plane for unclear reasons, but of course, once the Polish planes have landed, we will try to convince her to leave this place, very dangerous at the moment," Przydacz explained.
Polish planes en route to Afghanistan
Earlier that day, Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki informed in social media that Polish planes were on route to Afghanistan. "The situation there is dynamic and we have to constantly analyse information sent by our services," he said.
Morawiecki added that after Tuesday's cabinet meeting, special consultations would be held with ministers of foreign affairs, defence and interior.

At a press briefing in Żabia Wola, Morawiecki informed that Poland and Uzbekistan were cooperating to handle the evacuation logistics as swiftly as possible. "The list of names will be known in the coming days, it should be approximately 100 people who we will help to evacuate," he said.
The prime minister also said the planes would be operate between Kabul and Uzbekistan, and then take the evacuees to Poland. "It's all been organised so we could also help our allies," he reassured.
He also informed that a special government team led by the interior minister would facilitate the process of relocating the evacuees from Afghanistan to special centres in Poland. "The whole operation is also being carried out in contact with our allies and special services," PM Morawiecki said.
