Chairman of Poland's ruling Law and Justice party Jarosław Kaczyński announced on Friday that a group of European right-wing parties signed a joint declaration underscoring the importance of sovereignty of EU states and attachment to "traditional values".
Apart from Poland's ruling PiS party, the declaration was signed on Friday also by Hungary's Fidesz, Italy's Lega North, France's National Rally, Spain's Vox and a number of other parties.
Jarosław Kaczyński, who signed the declaration, said that a conference on Europe's future held simultaneously had unclear structure and goals. "It's safe to assume the goal is to deepen processes that won't lead to EU's development, but rather to a deeper crisis" - he said.
In his view, certain political powers only want to create "a superstate, to centralise, and carry out cultural revolution that would destroy current social structure".
"We don't want these revolutions, we think that they, just like all the other ideas of that sort which happened in the history of Europe and the world, can only bring plenty of misfortune and radically restrict freedom" - PiS chairman said.
"We believe that we've done something good for the future of the Europe and all nations" - Kaczyński stressed.
