The search for missing Ukrainian woman named Tetyana have ended happily. The 71-year-old crossed Polish border in Medyka on February 28. The woman was travelling with her husband, but they got separated already in Ukraine. They couldn't find each other since then. After three weeks of searching, the woman has been finally located.
Just like millions of her compatriots, Tetyana has fled from the war-torn Ukraine attacked by Russia. On the fourth day of the invasion (Feb.28), the 71-year-old woman crossed the border with Poland in Medyka. Her family did not have contact with her since that day. Podkarpackie Voivodeship police launched a search operation, but for quite some time it proved ineffective.
A few days ago, the police published CCTV footage showing the woman and that was the breakthrough everyone was hoping for.
Teytana is "safe in a new place"
On Tuesday (March 22), the police informed that they managed to locate the woman. The officers also thanked everyone who had been involved in the search.
"The woman is safe in a new place and she is under proper care. Due to her wellbeing and personal reasons, we will not be revealing any detailed information in that regard," Podkarpackie Voivodeship police said.
