A renowned press and television journalist Krzysztof Leski is dead - he has been murdered. The alleged perpetrator has most likely turned himself in and is now under arrest - tvn24.pl portal has learned.
The information about a 34-year-old man, who is said to have admitted to murdering Krzysztof Leski, was confirmed to us by the spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, Łukasz Łapczyński.
"The man has been detained in Cracow, but at the moment he is held in a remand centre in Warsaw," prosecutor Łapczyński told tvn24.pl portal. "After collecting all necessary evidence the prosecutor will carry out formal proceeding with the detained man, most likely already on Tuesday," he added.
According to the investigators, the 34-year-old and Krzysztof Leski had known each other since last fall. The detained man has been living in a flat owned by the victim.

Krzysztof Leski was an activist for the Independent Students’ Association (NZS), he was the editor-in-chief of the "NZS Information Bulletin" at the Warsaw University of Technology. For his activity, he was interred after the imposition of martial law.
In the years 1989-1991 he worked for "Gazeta Wyborcza", and afterwards, for the follwing decade he was associated with Polish Television (TVP). Furthermore, he also worked as a correspondent for British media, among others, "The Daily Telegraph" and the BBC.
In recent years, Krzysztof Leski wasn't active as a journalist. He was active in social media, among other things, he ran a very popular blog and Twitter account.
