"Today's biggest challenge is to convince Poles to get vaccinated, as less people are registering. This week nearly 1 million doses were not sent to vaccination points, as there was no interest in getting inoculated" - chief of PM's office Michał Dworczyk said on Thursday.
Government vaccination programme coordinator and PM's aide Michał Dworczyk said at a press conference on Thursday the dynamic of registrations for vaccination was decreasing.
"We've recorded a 30%-drop week on week. Last week we had 49,000 daily registrations. This is a very concerning situation" - he said.
He informed that nearly 1 million doses were not sent to vaccination points, because the stations cancelled orders due to lack of interest in vaccinations.
He added that first general vaccination points informed they would be shutting down. Primary health care centres would now take over responsibility for vaccinations.
"However, as we've already mentioned, today's biggest challenge is to convince Poles to get vaccinated" - Dworczyk said.
At the same time he said 75 percent of Poles had positive opinion on how the National Vaccination Programme was being carried out. He added the primary focus should be on keeping the vaccinations going on.
"At the moment 54 percent of adult Poles have either received first doses or registered for vaccination" - PM's aide said.
Furthermore, he said that over 77 percent of people aged 70+ were either vaccinated or registered, and 67 percent of those aged 60+.
Dworczyk added that the number of registered and vaccinated people in younger age groups was also going down.
