He was an iconic Polish cyclist in the sixties and seventies and he won the Olympic silver medal twice. Now, Ryszard Szurkowski needs help. In June, during a veteran race in Germany's Cologne he had an accident. He has now undergone two back operations and a complicated facial reconstruction, but all of his limbs are still paralysed. That's why his loved ones are raising money for a treatment and rehabilitation. The ministry of sport and tourism has joined the support.
