Residents of Poland's northwestern city of Szczecin are struggling to repair damage caused by heavy rainfall which has been going on since Wednesday. Many streets and houses have been flooded.
Intensive rainfall, which started on Wednesday afternoon, has ravaged the city of Szczecin (West Pomeranian province), causing many flooding.
Spokesperson for the local fire service Przemysław Majer said that by Thursday morning they received over 300 calls regarding damage caused by the rain. The reports were still coming in as the rain would not stop.
Many streets and private properties were completely flooded. Drivers had troubles with moving between two shores of the city.
Also the A6 highway was flooded in both directions between Kołbaskowo junction up to the border with Germany.
According to weather forecasts, rainfall and storms were likely to continue until Thursday evening.
