A majority of Poles plans to cut their spending related to the upcoming Easter, according to the latest poll conducted by Kantar for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24. This is what 58% of respondents declared, whereas 39% of those asked said they were not planning to spend less. Poland's inflation in February 2023 was 18.4% year on year.
In the March poll by Kantar carried out for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24, the respondents were asked if they were planning to cut their spending related to the upcoming Easter. 58% of those asked provided affirmative answers, while 39% declared they were not planing to spend less money. 3% of respondents chose the answer "hard to say".
The latest phone survey was conducted by Kantar on March 14-16, 2023, on a nationwide, representative sample of 1000 people aged 18+.
Inflation keeps on rising
It have not been so bad since 1996. Inflation in Poland in February 2023 increased by 18.4% year on year. Especially prices of food have gone up - by nearly 25% compared to February 2022. The spike in consumer prices is also very noticeable at gas stations and on energy bills.
Doing their everyday shopping, many Poles have to increasingly often resign from buying certain products.
