Andrusiewicz: unfortunately, we see the epidemic developing in three provinces
At Tuesday's press briefing, Health Ministry spokesman Wojciech Andrusiewicz was asked about these figures. "Unfortunately, we see the epidemic developing in three provinces".
"We also see, that in terms of hospital beds used, Podlaskie has already overtaken Podkarpackie. In Lubelskie, 56% of all hospital beds are occupied. In Podlaskie, it's 46%, and 42% in Podkarpackie," he informed.
He stressed that local authorities were increasing hospital beds supply accordingly. "Within 24-48 hours, we are able to increase the number of beds to 11,000-12,000, and up to 17,000-20,000 in the following days. As of today there's no need to, but in the regions in which the situation is the worst we see the number of beds is going up," the spokesman said.
He appealed for observing the epidemic restrictions. "The epidemic hasn't passed and soon we will reach approximately 5,000-6,000 infections (daily), and therefore, now's the time when we all should take care of ourselves and other citizens by covering mouth and nose," Andrusiewicz said.
