The Ministry of Health informed on Wednesday about 366 new coronavirus cases and death of 13 COVID-related deaths. Since the start of the pandemic Poland has reported 2,889,036 infection cases and 75,358 deaths.
The highest number of the 366 new infections were confirmed in Masovian province - 47 cases. The Ministry of Health also informed about the death of 13 COVID patients.
Wednesday's data shows the highest spike in new infections since June 10, 2021, when 382 cases were reported. Last week on Wednesday, the ministry informed about 234 new cases. Today's report shows 132 cases more, which translates into a 56-percent increase.
"This means an increase by more than 50 percent, so hopefully this will be a signal to keep us disciplined and remind us that the pandemic is still here," said Health Minister Adam Niedzielski.
