Deputy Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy Waldemar Buda said on Friday the government would adopt the National Recovery Plan later that day, and then send the document over to the EU Commission. He added everything seemed to suggest there was a necessary political consensus over the project.
"We're heading to towards the end of preparing the National Recovery Plan. Parliament is set to vote over ratification of European Council's own resources decision. Both on the governmental and parliamentary levels, everything seems to suggest there is a majority to back the project" - Waldemar Buda said at a conference on Friday.
"We're glad with declarations of other groups, which are vocal in the public sphere and in the parliament, and which come forward and lean towards backing the project" - he added.
"At the same time we're working on the National Recovery Plan itself. We devoted today's session of local and central government joint committee to the plan. The discussion resulted in a joint statement. The commission sees very big changes in the recovery plan, compared to the original document" - deputy minister Buda explained.
He added a working group would be designated to establish the rules for implementing of the National Recovery Plan.
Furthermore, the deputy minister added that Poland would send the document to the EU Commission later that day and that further changes could be made after. "Today we submit this document informally and we're still open for discussion and dialogue over details with the Commission" - he said.
The National Recovery Plan must be adopted first in order for the parliament to approve the EU budget for 2021-2027 and the recovery fund that altogether would 770 billion zlotys for Poland in the coming years.
