A part of an overpass in Koszalin collapsed on the street stretching below. A dash-cam recording shows the viaduct falling down right in front of approaching cars.
A fragment of an overpass, a part of Monte Cassino Avenue closed for dismantling, collapsed on Batalionów Chłopskich Street below.
The structure, which has been closed in March, 2020, due to a risk of collapsing, fell down on Thursday after 4 p.m.
Deputy Mayor of Koszalin, Andrzej Kierzek, informed that the dismantling of the overpass was planned in stages, and that was why Batalionów Chłopskich Street had been open to traffic and pedestrians. This part of the road was planned to be closed within the next two days.
A dash-cam footage from one of the vehicles shows the viaduct falling down right in front approaching cars.
The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into causing a construction disaster and putting people at risk of losing life and health.
