Presidential minister Krzysztof Szczerski expressed hope on Tuesday after talks in the White House that the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Polish President Andrzej Duda on June 12 will have a "breakthrough character" for Poland's efforts to increase US military presence in Poland.
"There's a big chance that, in June, we may hear from our presidents about the decisions regarding the size and form of increased US military presence in Poland," Krzysztof Szczerski told Polish correspondents after leaving the White House.
The head of President Duda's Chancellery has spoken with representatives of the National Security Agency to the White House, including Charles Kupperman, the Deputy National Security Advisor for President Donald Trump.
Szczerski added that the negotiations regarding the increase in US military presence in Poland, between work groups from the Pentagon and the Polish Ministry of Defense "are in the culminating point". He also stipulated that the final decision "can be taken only by presidents of Poland and the United States".
