Stuffed with salmon and veal – the most famous couple in the world will sample the tasty pierogi (dumplings) in Gdańsk. We've checked the menu to see what else Kate and William will have.
Pierogi from the Gdańsk restaurant “Pod Łososiem” were once served to John Paul II, Princess Anne and Margaret Thatcher. Now the same traditional dish will be sampled by the royal couple, who will arrive in Gdańsk this Tuesday.
We've checked what exactly will be put on the table at which Kate and William will be dining. “The first batch of pierogi to be served will be staffed with salmon and crayfish. This is a specialty of our restaurant. These will be followed by parsley dough pierogi, stuffed with veal. Naturally, the dough is quite special and the traditional recipes have been perfected over many years. I cannot disclose the recipe,” said the chef of the “Pod Łososiem” restaurant.
It is known that the royal couple will have a choice of at least four or maybe five types of pierogi, some of them sweet.
A small glass of vodka for better health
And after the dinner? Kate and William will have the opportunity to try “Miodula”, a vodka with honey, or the famous “Goldwasser”.
“Gdańsk is famous for Goldwasser. It is part of our history. What sets it apart is twenty carat gold. In addition, it is a vodka with medicinal herbs. This is why a glass or two after dinner is highly recommended,” says Damian Robakowski from the “Pod Łososiem” restaurant.
The staff of the Gdańsk restaurant assured us that they “had plenty of experience serving such illustrious guests.”
“We feel appreciated and greatly honored. Our entire company and my family are very happy to be hosting the royal couple. I hope this will not be the last time,” added Robakowski.
