The royal couple landed in Gdańsk at about 11:00 and drove to the Stutthof Museum in Sztutowo. After visiting the former Nazi concentration camp and meeting with former prisoners, Kate and William set out for Gdańsk.

The royal couple arrived in the world's amber capital at about 15:20. Kate and William directed their first steps to Artus Court, where they were officially welcomed by President Paweł Adamowicz, and were presented with souvenirs.

When William and Kate appeared on the raised terrace of the Artus Court, they were greeted by Gdańsk residents and tourists. The royal couple found time to meet with the city's residents, get photographed and shake hands. As they took a short walk, they were accompanied by Capella Gedanensis, which performed works by Wojciech Kilar and Georg Friedrich Haendel, among others.

A taste of Gdańsk
William and Kate sampled the Goldwasser liqueur, for which Gdańsk is famous, and traditional Polish pierogi. The latter were cooked by the chef of the "Pod Łososiem" restaurant. - One type was staffed with salmon and crayfish. This is a speciality of our restaurant. The other was made of parsley dough, staffed with veal - the chef told us in confidence.
The royal couple met with a group of British soldiers stationed in Poland, and watched a show put on by stilters, who acted out an allegorical scene from the Golden Gate in Gdańsk. The characters portrayed included Justice, Fame, Fortune, Concord, Prudence, Neptune and Hermes.
