Strong wind and hailstones. Weather alerts for 12 voivodeships in Poland

The evening and the night will bring along dangerous weather. The Government Centre of Security (RCB) cautions against the strong wind and storms with hailstones. The RCB alerts were sent out to residents of 12 voivodeships. Some drivers have wrapped their cars in layers made from paper and cardboard to protect them from damage caused by hailstone downpour.

Trump: decision on Visa Waiver for Poland possibly within 90 days

Poland's PGNiG to buy even more liquefied gas from United States

Poland's state-owned gas giant PGNiG has signed a contract amendment with the American firm Venture Global, that would extend the volume of LNG deliveries to Poland. The annexed contract assumes increase by 1.5 million tonnes per year. Contracts with Venture Global LNG projects have been concluded for 20 years.

Heat caused tram rail to bend and pop out of the ground in Bydgoszcz

First, a city tram passed and right after one rail popped out of the concrete and arched. The video recorded by a camera from a car that stood on Jagiellońska street in Bydgoszcz shows that one second was enough for the tracks to become impassable. High temperature was the reason behind this rare indicent. The ground could have been as hot as 40 degrees.

Former MMA champion Mamed K. arrested by anti-terror unit

Former professional MMA fighter Mamed K. was detained on Tuesday by the Central Bureau of Police Investgations (CBŚP). He is suspected of being a member of an organized crime group responsible for stealing cars in the Czech Republic and bringing them to Poland.
