"I think the President will do well to really establish relationship with the Polish people" - said Ellen Tauscher, former American Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Affairs. In her interview with Jacek Stawiski from TVN24 BiS she talked about the Ballistic Missile Defense System in Poland, Donald Trump's visit to Warsaw and the Three Seas Initiative.
Ellen Tauscher, former American Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Affairs, is a member of the Democratic Party. She served seven terms in Congress, and for three years she chaired the Strategic Forces subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee responsible for nuclear weapons, ballistic missile defense, space programs and satellites.
A few years ago she negotiated the terms of establishing the Ballistic Missile Defense System in Poland. In the interview with Jacek Stawiski she expressed her satisfaction with the negotiation results. The former Under Secretary underlined the purely defensive nature of this project, and said that the U.S. has repeatedly assured Russians they have nothing to fear.
Tauscher also talked about the President's visit to Warsaw. She believes that in his Warsaw speeches Donald Trump should concentrate mostly on universal values that are cherished both in the United States, and in Poland.
