EU asks Polish gov't to withdraw its query from Constitutional Court

The European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders wrote a letter addressed to Poland's Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro and Minister for European Affairs Konrad Szymański in which he asked them to withdraw Poland's motion filed at the EU Court of Justice regarding supremacy of Polish law over the European code.

CJEU issues ruling regarding loans denominated in foreign currency

The Court of Justice of the European Union said on Thursday that "a consumer who has taken out a loan denominated in a foreign currency and who does not know that a term in the loan agreement is unfair cannot be subject to any limitation period for the repayment of sums paid on the basis of that term".

Yellow card for blatant disregard of fundamental rules of football and sportsmanship was brandished during a third-tier league match in Poland's city of Elbląg. What's more interesting, a single yellow card was enough to send "the 12th player" off the pitch.

Terlecki says he won't apologise to Tsikhanouskaya for his harsh remark

Ryszard Terlecki said on Tuesday he would not apologise to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya for his tweet criticising the Belarusian oppositionist. The Deputy Speaker of the Sejm informed, however, he wrote a letter addressed to Tsikhanouskaya "explaining who she is dealing with" taking part in the Campus Polska project.

Nurses and midwives staged warning strike in Warsaw

Nurses and midwives from Masovian hospitals organised a warning strike in downtown Warsaw. They were met there by the Voivode of Masovian province and former health minister Konstanty Radziwiłł, who said that Poland's conservative government had raised wages in health care in "an absolutely unprecedented way". For his speech he received boos and jeers, and was called "a liar".

PM defends deputy speaker Terlecki over his criticism of Tsikhanouskaya

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has mentioned a few events from Deputy Sejm Speaker Ryszard Terlecki's life, and said that his colleague from the PiS party "knows perfectly well what fighting for freedom means". This way he commented on Terlecki's tweet criticising Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. PiS arch-rivals, Civic Coalition, demanded his resignation claiming his words stood against Poland's national interest.

The city of Gdańsk celebrates the 32nd anniversary of Poland's partially-free election of June 4th, 1989, which sparked democratic transition and the fall of communism. EU bans Belarusian carriers from its airspace
