Party support poll: Civic Coalition overtakes Poland 2050

Support for the United Right ruling coalition has fallen down to 29 percent, according to the latest poll by Kantar for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24. Since our previous voter sentiment survey, support for Civic Coalition has clearly increased up to 24 percent. Szymon Hołownia's Poland 2050 has recorded a significant drop in support, getting the third-highest result of 15 percent.

EC Vice President: we follow closely the situation related to TVN24

"The new draft Polish law on broadcasting concessions is yet another worrying signal for media freedom and pluralism in the country" - Vice President of the European Commission Vera Jourova said on Monday. She referred to a draft legislation put forward by a group of lawmakers from Poland's ruling PiS party, targeting the independence of TVN station.

Epidemiologist: third doses of vaccine necessary for certain groups

EU Commission to look into anti-TVN bill

The European Commission said on Friday it would look into a draft law proposed by Poland's ruling PiS party regarding broadcasting license law in Poland. A group of Law and Justice lawmakers submitted a draft amendment to the Broadcasting Act. In the justification to the proposed legislation we read that it aims to "prevent companies based in Poland to be owned by entities from outside the European Economic Area". "Such legislation would mean war with the USA, as it would expropriate or at least force the Americans to sell a huge company, which TVN is" - said Juliusz Braun, a member of the National Media Council and a former chairman of the National Broadcasting Council.

EU Commission ups GDP forecast for Poland in 2021
