Economic slowdown, high inflation and interest rates. OECD forecast for Poland

In the latest "Economic Outlook" report, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) forecasts that Polish gross domestic product in 2023 will increase by 0.9%, while inflation will be at 10.8%. OECD analysts expect Poland to face high inflation, growing unemployment, and further increases of interest rates next year.

Ukrainian experts allowed to inspect missile blast site in Poland

Ukrainian experts were granted access on Friday (November 18) to the deadly missile blast site in the Polish village of Przewodów. They were escorted to the scene by the police. "I am grateful to the Polish side for granting them access. We will continue our cooperation in an open and constructive manner, as closest friends do," Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba said in a tweet.

President Duda visited blast site. "I spoke with Zelenskiy, it's a very difficult situation for them"

President Andrzej Duda visited the village of Przewodów on Thursday (November 17), where a stray missile had killed two men on Tuesday. At a press briefing he said that no one wanted to do any harm to Poland, and that he spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. "This is an extremely difficult situation for them, emotions run high and there's also huge stress," Duda said, adding that "in recent days, Ukraine has been under a mass missile attack carried out by Russia".

Two men were killed on Tuesday in the village of Przewodów (Lubelskie Voivodeship) in an explosion caused by a stray missile. Who were the victims? "They were good, warm-hearted, and very helpful people," says the local parish priest, Father Bogdan Ważny. The two men worked at a local grain-dryin plant, where the blast took place. The police and prosecutor's office have not yet confirmed the identity of the victims.

Statistics Poland: October inflation at record high in 26 years

Consumer prices in October of 2022 increased by 17.9% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year - Poland Central Statistical Office said on Tuesday (November 15).
