"My guess is the President is going to reaffirm our partnership and commitment. I think it is going to be a very good trip," said Bob Corker commenting on the visit by the President of the United States Donald Trump to Poland, scheduled to begin on Wednesday. Marcin Wrona, a correspondent for TVN’s "Fakty" news broadcast talked to the Republican Senator in Washington.
The Senator did not dwell on the fact that during the previous visit by the US President to Europe, the validity of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, concerning the collective defense of NATO members, failed to be expressly confirmed. Mr. Trump went on to just that later in Washington, during a meeting with the President of Romania.
"Obviously people in Poland understand that while maybe some things were left unsaid at the last visit to Europe, people in Poland understand that action speaks louder than words," he stated.
"My guess is the President is going to reaffirm our partnership and commitment. I think it is going to be a very good trip," Corker added.
