Well-known heart surgeon Mirosław G. is guilty of accepting at least 22,000 zlotys in bribes from patients and their families between March 2005 and December 2006 - the Regional Court for Warsaw said on Wednesday. The doctor was given a one year in prison sentence suspended for two years and 50,000-zloty fine.

The meeting between Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Mayor of Gdańsk Aleksandra Dulkiewicz will take place on Tuesday (June 11) at 1.30 pm in the PM's chancellery - informed the new spokesperson for the government Piotr Mueller. He stressed that it was the prime minister who extented the invitation. "I have accepted Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's invitation," Dulkiewicz replied on Twitter. "I'm looking forward to our meeting," she added.

Dawid K. has been sentenced for 25 years in prison for the murder of Jacek Hryć. His shoe trace was left on the victim's face. He was the only one to admit to the beating, although his attorney attempted to prove that Hryć's death did not result from the sustained blows. Four friends of Dawid K. have been sentenced for 8 years each. Jacek Hryć was 28 years old when he was killed on the street because of "some sort of misinterpreted behaviour, glance, word".

Sławomir Neumann, the head of the Civic Platform-Civic Coalition club, on Friday declared himself a supporter of closer cooperation between PO and Modern Party and of further intergration of the two parties in the future. Newly elected MEP Andrzej Halicki was chosen on Friday as the head of Civic Platform - Polish People's Party (PO-PSL) delegation to the European Parliament. We've warned that introducing regulations that in fact liquidate night and holiday health care and directing patients to hospital emergency wards could lead to a tragedy. Warsaw's monument to General Zygmunt Berling, located in Saska Kępa neighbourhood, will be moved by the end of the year to the Polish History Museum - announced the spokesperson of Praga Południe district Andrzej Opala.
