Poland's justice minister: it's not about judiciary anymore; Poland's being played politically

"It’s not about dispute over judiciary anymore, but about drawing out the decision until the European elections, in order to play Poland politically," said Poland’s Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro regarding Tuesday’s proceedings in the Court of Justice of the European Union (ECJ). The Advocate General of the ECJ is expected to issue an opinion regarding the case on the 11th of April.

Road contractor blames coal mine for cracks in the newly built road

A body lay on a sidewalk for 4 hours as there was no coroner in town

"Gazeta Wyborcza" published invoice issued to Srebrna company by Birgfellner

The "Gazeta Wyborcza" daily has published an invoice that was supposedly issued by the Austrian businessman Gerald Birgfellner for the so-called K-Towers. The prime minister had earlier urged for someone to present such a document. However, what was shown is still not good enough to convince the government.

Schoolchildren organised march for tolerance in Gdańsk

"We want to build bridges between Poles" - that was the message by the young people in Gdańsk. Thousands of high-schoolers marched the streets of the city to show that they can be above divisions. They protested against aggresion and hate speech. The motivation behind the march was the death of mayor Paweł Adamowicz.

Life sentences for two men for the murder of two girls in 2016

Two young girls were taken to the river where they were tied, beaten and then drowned by their friends. The court had no intention of handing down any other verdict.

Woman notoriuosly riding without a ticket sentenced for 10 days in jail

If you ride public transportation, it could land you in jail - if you travel without a ticket, that is. A woman from Chrzanów, southern Poland, notorious for this will spend 10 days behind bars. The court's decision is now legally binding. She's been treated with such severity because she was caught by inspectors without a ticket 67 times.

The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau did not confirm grounds to investigate Jarosław Kaczyński's estate, but the "Gazeta Wyborcza" daily continues to publish more recordings with details on the Srebrna case. Their latest revelation is that Kaczyński was the decision maker regarding the investment. Kazimierz Kujda, the president of the National Environmental Protection Fund and former head of Srebrna firm and close advisor of Kaczyński negotiated personally with the Austrian businessman.
