Health Ministry informed on Tuesday about 257 new cases of coronavirus infection and the death of 7 infected persons. In total, 36,412 persons have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Poland, of which 1528 have died.

The Ministry of Health said on Tuesday (July 7) that 257 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed. The majority of infections -91 - have been reported in the Silesian Voivodeship. Seven infected persons have died.

The remaining cases have been reported in the following voivodeships: Greater Poland (75), Lesser Poland (21), Subcarpathian (17), Lubelskie (15), Łódzkie (9), Lower Silesian (9), Masovian (6), Świętokrzyskie (4), Opolskie (3), Podlaskie (2), Pomeranian (2), Warmian-Masurian (1), Western Pomeranian (1), Kuyavian-Pomeranian (1).

The number of infections reported on Tuesday in higher the one from Monday (205), and that from Sunday (231).

The ministry also informed on Tuesday about the death of seven coronavirus-infected patients aged between 65 and 83. All of them had co-occurring medical conditions.

So far in Poland 36,412 person have been infected with coronavirus, of which 1528 have died.

Coronavirus report

Earlier on Tuesday the Ministry of Health issued the latest numbers in its daily "coronavirus report". The latest statistics look as follows:

- 1658 "COVID-19 beds" have been occupied

- 73 have been hooked up to ventilators

- 85 327 persons have been placed in quarantine

- 11 780 persons have been placed under epidemiological supervision

- 24 238 persons have recovered
