The seventh edition of the Polish Business Roundtable Awards. The four laureates have made business and social contributions that have a significant impact on Poland. Father Adam Boniecki received the Special Award named after Jan Wejchert.

"I wish there were more laid-back supporters in Polish club football"

"Maybe the police should return to Polish stadiums, at least for some time. Obviously, not for free. For a payment," proposed the former chaiman of the Polish Footbal Association, Michał Listkiewicz. The guest of "Fakty po Faktach" commented on hooligan incidents during Sunday's game between Lech and Legia. "It was the last straw," added Mr Listkiewicz. By contrast, the former deputy police chief, General Adam Rapacki said that "the sheer presence of the police at the stadiums won't fix the real problem". The guests of the second part of the programme were Andrzej Celiński and Marek Migalski.

Protesters remain in the Sejm as the NATO summit approaches

The 35th day of protest in the Sejm. The Parents of disabled adults continue to battle for a 500 zloty rehabilitation suppliment. The ruling party faces another dilemma now, as it is trying to prepare for the upcoming NATO summit which will be held in the Sejm building. It's anyone's guess whether the police will cordon the protesters off, however, more and more voices suggest that just may be an option in order to avoid embarrassment.

President signed the amended Act on the Supreme Court

President Andrzej Duda has signed the amended Act on the Supreme Court and the Organization of the Courts. The amendment introduces, among other things, changes in the regulations regarding the so-called extraordinary complaint and the appointing of the court assessors.

Eleven hooligans detained. Three already heard charges

The police have already detained eleven Lech Poznań hooligans who invaded the pitch and disrupted the game on Sunday. Three men are being questioned, other three already heard charges and the rest should follow soon. One of the detained was banned from entering stadiums. The police still determines the identities of others involved in the incident.

Bone reconstruction saves kids from amputation

Incredible measure of progress in medicine. Doctors from Poznań reconstructed the bones of the kids who were at risk of having their legs amputated. The children and their parents celebrate while their story gives hope to others.

Man dies in an accident in Tatra mountains

Tragic accident in Tatra mountains. Two men have been on their way up to the Rysy summit. Both fell down the chasm. One of was killed, the other is injured. The mountain rescuers caution that there is still a lot of frozen snow on the way to the highest peak in Poland.

Warsaw tenants granted compensation by the reprivatisation committee

Compensation for the victims of the so-called wild reprivatisation. Will the city authorities pay the money to the tenants of four tenement houses in Warsaw? They should according to the decision made by the reprivatisation committee chaired by Law and Justice's candidate for mayor of Warsaw, Patryk Jaki. Among the tenants is the daughter of Jolanta Brzeska, a social activists who fought for tenements' rights and had been found dead in 2011.

No punishment for ecologists from Białowieża Forest

There will be no punishment for ecologists and other activists who were protesting last year against the logging of the Białowieża Forest. The minister of environment said that all lawsuits against the protesters will be withdrawn. Instead, the ministry will invite the ecologists to work together in a new Białowieża expert group. As for now, however, the activists refused the offer as they don’t want to work in a same team with the people who recommended the logging in the first place.

World Cup: Germany, Spain and Brazil top favourites to win according to Swiss bank

Swiss banking giant, UBS predicts that the World Cup holders, Germany stand the highest chance to win this year's tournament in Russia. According to the carried out simulation, German team has 24 percent to succeed. Right behind them are Brazil and Spain with 19.8 percent chances for the former and 16.1 percent for the latter. According to UBS, Panama, Egypt, Tunisia, Costa Rica and Saudi Arabia have literally zero chances to hold up the Jules Rimet trophy in July.

Fuel prices go up in Poland

Fuel prices in Poland went. Currently, a litre of gasoline costs around 5 zloty or more. This is a result of an increase in oil prices on international markets.

Polish team prepares for the World Cup

Adam Nawałka, coach of the Polish national team has narrowed his selection for the World Cup to 32 players. The final fight for tickets to Russia will happen in the seaside town of Jurata and later in southern town of Arłamów where the last two preparation camps are scheduled to take place. The final squad will be annouced on 4 June and the chosen 23 players will represent Poland in the tournament. In their first game, Poland will face Senegal on Tuesday 19 June in Moscow. Apart from the African team, Poland will play against Columbia and Japan.

Airbus Helicopters takes Poland to court

Airbus Helicopters is sueing Poland after Beata Szydło's had cabinet terminated the contract to buy 15 Caracal helicopters for the Polish Army. The case has been withdrawn from the Court of Arbitration and now the French company will take it to the Polish court.
