Record medal win for Poland in 2019 Special Olympics

Sixty nine medals at the Special Olympics in Abu-Dhabi. It's a historic result for team Poland who deserve a great appreciation. On Friday, the team along with their medals returned to Poland. As expected, they were greeted by fans and friends at Warsaw Chopin Airport.

A motorcyclist in hospital after a horrible accident near Inowrocław

A horrible accident took place in Borków near Inowrocław involving a motorcycle and a passenger car. The 70-year-old driver of the car forced the right of way when turning left, hitting the motorcycle and sending its rider airborne. Thankfully, the motorcyclist is in fair condition without life-threatening injuries.

EU leaders, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland celebrate 25 years of EEA

EU leaders and the prime ministers of Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein celebrated the 25th anniversary of the European Economic Area (EEA) on Friday (March 22). On the margins of a wider summit in Brussels to discuss Brexit and relations with China, the leaders posed for a family photo whilst European Council President Donald Tusk praised the advantages of the agreement. Established in 1994, the EEA allows access to the EU's single market to non EU member states.

"Wasted time". Next round of talks between teachers and government on April 1

"Shame that we may consider all those hours that we spent today as somewhat wasted, as we’re nowhere near of finding a solution. The government side did not propose any new ideas," said the chairman of the Polish Teachers’ Union, Sławomir Broniarz. "We will resume the talks regarding Polish education system on Monday. We’ve asked the unions to coordinate their demands," said the deputy PM Beata Szydło after the meeting with unions’ representatives.

Hungarian and Polish presidents celebrate countries' friendship with handball match

Hungary's President Janos Ader and his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda met in the southern Polish city of Kielce on Saturday to celebrate a day of friendship between their countries. Joined by their wives Anita Herczegh and Agata Kornhauser-Duda, the two presidents unveiled a monument of Hungarian composer Bela Bartok and attended a handball match between Polish and Hungarian teams. On Friday Duda awarded Ader the Order of the White Eagle, Poland's oldest and highest award of the Republic of Poland, according to Poland's state news agency PAP. Polish-Hungarian Friendship Day was first established by their respective parliaments in 2007.

High speed police chase to catch a drunk driver in Bydgoszcz

Footage from a police camera just like in the movies. An Audi was speeding on the streets of Bydgoszcz with no intent of stopping. When the police finally caught up with the car, officers apprehended the driver at gunpoint. It turned out that there were seven other people in the car, including one in the trunk. To top it all off, the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Man died in a hospital corridor after waiting nine hours for the doctor

A patient died in an emergency room in a Sosnowiec hospital but the story of how it happened is the most terrifying. According to his family, 39-year-old Krzysztof waited nine hours to die because, all the while, nobody helped him. Despite many warning signs that the situation was rapidly deteriorating. The hospital management is expressing their apologies and the prosecutor is on the case.
