On Tuesday afternoon another round of talks between the teachers and the government came to an end. "Unfortunately, the unions rejected the government's offer," said deputy PM Beata Szydło. "We were absolutely sure that the offer would at least correspond with our demands," said the chief of the Polish Teachers' Union (ZNP), Sławomir Broniarz. "The meeting was a waste of time," added Sławomir Wittkowicz, the head of the "Solidarność-Oświata" Free Trade Union.
