Donald Tusk summoned to Amber Gold investigative committee. Decision made without Civic Platform MPs

Donald Tusk will testify before the parliamentary Amber Gold investigative committee. The head of the committee, Małgorzata Wasserman from Law and Justice announced the decision to summon the former Prime Minister was made unanimously. But the MP's from Civic Platform weren't present in the room during the vote and that caused mutual accusations that leaked to the media. The committee wants to determine, whether or not, and to what extent, the state officials were aware of what was happening in Amber Gold.

Constitutional Tribunal: President had the right to pardon former chief of anti-corruption bureau

The Constitutinal Tribunal has handed down a ruling in a case that was directed to the court a year ago by the Prosecutor General, Zbigniew Ziobro. The case concerns President Duda's pardoning of the former heads of the Central Anti-corruption Bureau, including current Secret Services Coordinator, Mariusz Kamiński. The new Constitutional Tribunal, called up by Law and Justice, has ruled that the President may pardon someone, even before that person hears the final verdict in their case.

Tusk: Law and Justice is not particularily attached to the idea of parliamentarism

Donald Tusk is throwing down the gauntlet at Kaczynski and causing an avalanche of questions: will he fight in the presidential election? The former prime minister announced that he would stand to duel if his rival was the chairman of Law and Justice. Tusk issued a stern review of the Law and Justice government, citing the events during the National Assembly.

Donald Tusk to testify in front of the Amber Gold committee. The special parliamentary committee which is investigating the financial scandal will decide next week when it plans to question the former prime minister of Poland. Mr Tusk is now the President of the European Council. The date will most likely be set in mid to late September.

Warsaw. Open theatre on Constitution Square

Constitution Square in Warsaw, where for the next time around there was a performance put on by the Polonia Theatre. The performance was not so typical as it was outside and interactive. Viewers could watch the play "2 000 000 STEPS" which featured Tomasz Ciachorowski and Janusz Nowicki - all this was accompanied by buses passing by and everyday life just right next to the stage.

Praga district in Warsaw. Ząbkowska street has been closed off to traffic and opened for pedestrians and art. Participants of the Praska Kolorowanka prepared a contour drawing showing the architecture of Praga, analogous to classic colouring books, however, on a much larger scale. The event is an opportunity for participants to launch their imagination and create art in an uninhibited manner, all surrounded by the Praga tenement houses.

NATO Battle Group Poland change of commanders ceremony

There has been a ceremonial changing of commanders stationed in the NATO Battle Group Poland. In Bemowo Piskie in North-Eastern Poland the Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Wright received the standard. He took over command of an international unit operating within NATO. It consists of soldiers from the United States, Great Britain, Croatia and Romania.

Warsaw: eight bodies exhumed in former Rakowiecka prison

Archaeologists are excavating a former prison on Rakowiecka street in Warsaw. Specialists from the bureau of search and identification from the Institute of National Remembrance have uncovered a mass grave with the remains of 8 people. Included with the remains were many personal items like medals, crosses, belts and other personal effects. Experts believe the victims found were murdered by the Nazi's during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944.

Adam B. shows remorse. First accusation for neo-Nazi forest party

Adam B. pleaded guilty and expressed his remorse. He confirmed that he took part in the organization of celebrations to mark the birthday of Adolf Hitler. The prosecutor decided to direct the indictment to the court along with a request from Adam B. to voluntarily submit himself to sentencing. These were the first accusations after January's report from the TVN Superwizjer programme on Polish neo-Nazis. The man has also been accused of promoting a Nazi regime and posessing a firearm without permission.

President Andrzej Duda has announced the recruiting process for Supreme Court judges. But judges are warning: the procedure is against the law and the selection of judges will be invalid. The Polish Judges’ Association "Iustitia" has adopted a special resolution. Included in it, is a critique of the changes to the Supreme Court and the newly chosen, by politicians, National Council of the Judiciary.

New face for a nine-year-old boy. Pioneering operation in Poland

A new face for a 9-year-old boy. Such an operation is the first of its kind in Poland. It is very difficult because there is a lot to recreate. The boy was born without eyes and a nose. The first stage of the complex surgery has been successfully completed. But there are still many steps more to go.
