U.S. President Joe Biden on Monday said he will visit Poland but does not know when after reports suggested he is considering a trip to Europe to coincide with the Feb. 24 anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The director of the Auschwitz Memorial on Friday compared the deaths of people in Ukraine to the suffering in World War Two during commemorations marking the 78th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi German death camp by Soviet troops.

"The memory of and the truth about the Holocaust of the Jews must persist and remain a warning for all generations to come," Poland's President Andrzej Duda said. Friday (Jan.27) marked the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. "The memory of Holocaust victims is part of our national identity, history of Europe and the world," said Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Friday (Jan.27) thanked Poland for deciding to send his country 60 Polish tanks. "Just like 160 years ago, we stand together, but this time the enemy stands no chance. Together we will win!" - he said in a tweet. Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also expressed his gratitude to Poland.

The Polish parliament late on Thursday adopted an amendment to the electoral code aimed at boosting voter turnout at this year's general election, a move the opposition argues is illegal and will benefit the ruling party.

Poland's prime minister thanked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday for his decision to send the heavy tanks to Ukraine.

After nearly 80 years, a roll of film with original photographs of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising taken by Zbigniew Leszek Grzywaczewski has been discovered among the family keepsakes. They will soon be at display in POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Museum curators say it is a unique discovery, as these are the only known photographs of the ghetto during the uprising that were not taken by the Germans.
