In vitro method only for married couples? Controversial project in the Sejm

The Sejm will once again look into the in vitro. This time at the initiative of a group of MPs from Law and Justice, Kukiz'15 and other independent MPs. The project is controversial because it assumes that only married couples will be able to use the method. Equally as controversial are the arguments they use to back their proposal.

Statement by "Superwizjer" TVN editorial team regarding "wPolityce" portal revelations

Editorial team of the "Superwizjer" programme is categorically denying the allegations that a member of TVN's crew making a report "Polscy neonaziści" (Polish neo-nazis) paid money to Mateusz S. alias Sitas or to anyone who took part in the anniversary of Adolf Hitler's birthday that was held in a forest near Wodzisław Śląski. Spreading such false information infringes on personal rights of the report's authors and the TVN station.

EU says euro zone growth to slow; Poland's forecast higher than expected

The European Commission raised yet again the forecast of Poland's economic growth. It is estimated that in 2018, Polish GDP will increase by 4,8 percent. Polish economy grown by exactly the same marker also in 2017, according to the Commission. Forecast for the euro zone is expected to slow as the bloc faces a few risks caused by Italy, USA and Brexit.

Monument to Lech Kaczyński in Warsaw to be unveiled on the 10th of November

The monument to Lech Kaczyński in Piłsudski Square in Warsaw has been completed. It was placed near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and next to the monument to Marshal Piłsudski. it is on this square that the official state celebrations will take place for the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence on the 11th of November. One day earlier, on the 10th of November, the monument will be officially unveiled.

President Duda signs a bill making November 12 a day off from work

After a short debate there is a final decision of the Sejm to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Poland's independence with a day off from work. In question was the 12th of November, so the nearest Monday. The decision was in fact made in the last moment and was signed by the President this evening. Associated delays have far-reaching effect.

Actor Alec Baldwin punched a Polish man in the face in parking space brawl

The man who reportedly got into physical altercation with the famous actor Alec Baldwin was a 49-year-old Pole, Wojciech Cieszkowski. The fight broke out after one of the Baldwin's family members wanted to hold a parking space for the actor. The Polish man swept in and took the spot. They allegedly got into a shoving match and then Baldwin punched the Pole. Cieszkowski went to a hospital and Baldwin was arrested and charged with misdemeanor, assault and harassment. He is denying that he ever punched the parking spot smart-aleck.

Guard fired a shot. Wounded man appeared in hospital. Police check if there's a connection

They wanted to steal cables. Security guards of the "Pokój" (Peace) coal mine in Ruda Śląska fired what was supposed to a warning shot. The thieves run away but soon afterwards, a man was brought to a hospital with a gunshot wound to his stomach. The 27-year-old is in serious condition. Police are now checking whether these two cases were related, and whether the man could have been shot by the gun of the guards.

Four new cases of measles confirmed. This time in northern Poland

Measles continues to strike. This time in Pomerania, northern Poland. There's a new outbreak in Kwidzyn. The local Epidemiological and Sanitary Station announced there are four newly confirmed cases. All of the infected persons are citizens of Ukraine. None of them has been vaccinated all work in a local factory. All of those who could have come in contact will need to be monitored for the illness as part of epidemic protection. That's about a thousand people.

Report: air pollution a likely cause of increased mortality in Poland

There is deadly smog in Poland and now it's official. The National Health Fund report says that the number of deaths in Poland in January 2017 rose by a staggering 23,5 percent year on year. The reason is possibly due to an abrupt deterioration of air quality, the report states. Air pollution is a common concern in winter in Poland, with many cities in the country ranked among the most polluted in the world.

Is Polexit becoming a real scenario? Donald Tusk warns; Law and Justice says it's absurd

The matter is dramatically serious and the risk is deadly serious, said Donald Tusk when talking about the possibility of a Polexit. He recalled that the former British Prime Minister David Cameron hadn't wanted a Brexit but now the UK is set to leave. From Law and Justice we hear that the notion itself is absurd, however the Brits also thought so. The opposition points out that step by step, the Polish ruling party is driving the country away from the EU and such play on Euro-skeptic emotions could get out of control.
