Poland paid homage to the Heroes of the Warsaw Uprising

Ceremonies commemorating the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising 74 years ago lasted all day in Warsaw on August 1, and were attended by top state officials, veterans and city residents. Observances were also held in other Polish cities and towns.

Warsaw as well rest of Poland mark the 74th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. Official commemorations are taking place all over the capital city. The tragic insurrection commenced on the 1st of August, 1944 and lasted 63 days until it was crushed by better-equipped German army.

Modern Party notifies prosecutor after police used tear gas against protesters

After Thursday's protests in front of Presidential Palace when the police used tear gas against the demonstrators, the Modern Party says it will notify the prosecutor's office. Politician of that party demand a clarification of the incident. Police claim that it was the demonstrators that used gas first, but witnesses claim otherwise and say that no gas was used by the protesters. According to members of the opposition, this could be the case of police overstepping its authority.

Kora - the Queen of Polish rock passed away aged 67

"With deepest regret and sorrow we inform that at 5.30 a.m. today, in her beloved Roztocze, surrounded by her loved ones, beloved pets and beautiful nature, died Kora - a great artist, singer, poet and painter," relatives of the artist informed on Saturday.
