Dramatic protest of the disabled continues

She wanted to pin something on them legally, now a certain MP is avoiding meeting with the parents of disabled people who have been protesting in the Sejm for weeks now. They want bigger state support just to survive a bit more easily. However, for some MPs from the ruling party, they are still invisible. Not everyone is sympathetic to their cause. The government claims it has already met their demands. The dramatic stalemate continues.

Rescue teams work around the clock

Rescue teams are still looking for three miners in the Zofiówka mine in the Silesia region after Saturday's tremor. The conditions in which rescue workers are operating are extremely difficult. Two miners died in the tragedy. Two others were injured.

"This protest is not rational"

Mr Żalek has said that the protesting shouldn't be given the 500 zloty per month benefit which they are demanding because they treat their children as "human shields" and "hostages". Former prime minister, Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz was the guest of the second part of the programme.

Chief Justice criticizes the draft Supreme Court bill

The draft amended Act on the Supreme Court does not include fundamental changes recommended by the European Commission, among others, regarding the so-called extraordinary complaint, reads the opinion issued by the First President of the Supreme Court, Małgorzata Gersdorf.

Police detained fascism propagator in Warsaw

A 34-year-old man has been detained for propagating fascism. He may face up to two years in prison. He was arrested during the "Nationalist Labour Day" march in Warsaw and brought to the prosecutor's office for wearing a shirt with the symbol of the SS. In his apartment, the police have found other materials promoting the totalitarian system. In the city of Katowice, nine people were detained during nationalists' demonstrations.

"Another attempt to silence the opposition"

"No one should try to turn the Sejm into their own colony where the governor punishes his subordinates for a faint smile or for having a different opinion," said Kukiz '15 MP, Marek Jakubiak in "Kropka nad i". He referred to Law and Justice's project of penalizing the MPs for "inappropriate behaviour". The other guest of the programme, Marcin Kierwiński from Civic Platform said that the project is meant to be "a whip for the opposition".

Polish foreign minister wants legal action over Katyń Memorial

The head of Polish diplomacy plans to take legal action against the mayor of Jersey City in the United States. The American official wants to take down the Katyń Memorial that was erected there 27 years ago by the local Polish-American community. Foreign minister Jacek Czaputowicz informed journalists of his plans while onboard an airplane that was headed to Albania.

Exams time for high school students

It was the second day of the so-called Matura exam that Polish high school students must pass before picking up their diploma. At 9am, almost 340.000 students sat down to take the mathematics section of the test.

Rescue mission still in search of missing miners

There is still no contact with the missing miners after Saturday's tremors in the Zofiówka coal mine in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. There still is, however, hope that they are alive and waiting for help. Rescue workers have to navigate extremely difficult, hazardous conditions to try and save them. In order to increase the safety of the operation, mining was suspended. Daniel Ozon, president of the Zofiówka mine, said 42 units comprising of five to six personnel each participated in the rescue efforts. He said the search area has been narrowed down to two tunnel sections totaling 275 meters in length.

New bill to teach the MPs "to behave"

Members of Parliament should behave in a dignified manner, both within the parliament and outside, say Law and Justice politicians. They have prepared amendments to the bill on holding a senatorial or parliamentary function. The project foresees, among other things, the possibility to reduce salaries of the MPs whose behavior "does not match the seriousness of their functions". This includes behavior outside the walls of parliament. Opinions regarding the proposal vary.

"We've pushed the needy to the periphery of society"

"We all should feel guilty," said sister Małgorzata Chmielewska from the "Bread of Life" Catholic Community. The guest of "Fakty po Faktach" shared her view on the ongoing protest of the disabled and their caretakers. "As a society, we have pushed those most in need to the periphery and offered them only a very humble survival package. Unfortunately, we're not giving them a chance to live," added sister Chmielewska. Civic Platform MP Joanna Mucha and Sylwester Tułajew, MP from Law and Justice were guests of the first part of the programme.
