The police have already detained eleven Lech Poznań hooligans who invaded the pitch and disrupted the game on Sunday. Three men are being questioned, other three already heard charges and the rest should follow soon. One of the detained was banned from entering stadiums. The police still determines the identities of others involved in the incident.

Incredible measure of progress in medicine. Doctors from Poznań reconstructed the bones of the kids who were at risk of having their legs amputated. The children and their parents celebrate while their story gives hope to others.

Tragic accident in Tatra mountains. Two men have been on their way up to the Rysy summit. Both fell down the chasm. One of was killed, the other is injured. The mountain rescuers caution that there is still a lot of frozen snow on the way to the highest peak in Poland.

Compensation for the victims of the so-called wild reprivatisation. Will the city authorities pay the money to the tenants of four tenement houses in Warsaw? They should according to the decision made by the reprivatisation committee chaired by Law and Justice's candidate for mayor of Warsaw, Patryk Jaki. Among the tenants is the daughter of Jolanta Brzeska, a social activists who fought for tenements' rights and had been found dead in 2011.

Good long-term news. Polish salaries were lower in April than in March, however, higher than in April of 2017. The latest data is better than many have predicted. The average monthly remuneration in Poland is over 4800 zloty.

There will be no punishment for ecologists and other activists who were protesting last year against the logging of the Białowieża Forest. The minister of environment said that all lawsuits against the protesters will be withdrawn. Instead, the ministry will invite the ecologists to work together in a new Białowieża expert group. As for now, however, the activists refused the offer as they don’t want to work in a same team with the people who recommended the logging in the first place.

Swiss banking giant, UBS predicts that the World Cup holders, Germany stand the highest chance to win this year's tournament in Russia. According to the carried out simulation, German team has 24 percent to succeed. Right behind them are Brazil and Spain with 19.8 percent chances for the former and 16.1 percent for the latter. According to UBS, Panama, Egypt, Tunisia, Costa Rica and Saudi Arabia have literally zero chances to hold up the Jules Rimet trophy in July.

Fuel prices in Poland went. Currently, a litre of gasoline costs around 5 zloty or more. This is a result of an increase in oil prices on international markets.

Adam Nawałka, coach of the Polish national team has narrowed his selection for the World Cup to 32 players. The final fight for tickets to Russia will happen in the seaside town of Jurata and later in southern town of Arłamów where the last two preparation camps are scheduled to take place. The final squad will be annouced on 4 June and the chosen 23 players will represent Poland in the tournament. In their first game, Poland will face Senegal on Tuesday 19 June in Moscow. Apart from the African team, Poland will play against Columbia and Japan.

Airbus Helicopters is sueing Poland after Beata Szydło's had cabinet terminated the contract to buy 15 Caracal helicopters for the Polish Army. The case has been withdrawn from the Court of Arbitration and now the French company will take it to the Polish court.

Expectations ran high before the visit of the former Polish president to the protesting parents of the disabled in the Sejm. While the most difficult questions remain unanswered, Lech Wałęsa declared that he would mobilize various groups in the society to support the plight of the protesters.

Aftermath of the disrupted title-deciding game due to shocking behaviour of Lech Poznań football hooligans. The city's mayor, Jacek Jaśkowiak thinks that the brawls that ensued on Sunday's matchup between the archrivals, Lech Poznań and Legia Warszawa is the result of lack of consistency on the part of the government.

In Gdańsk, a meeting with residents was cut short. After an outburst and heated discussion, the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki left the room at the legendary Gdańsk Shipyard. The government's spokesperson is saying the whole thing was planned by the opposition. But the most difficult questions, mostly about the protest of the disabled in the Sejm, are being asked throughout the country.

He says he's no criminal and will file a complaint on the actions of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, the CBA. The former chief of police claimed on TVN24's "Jeden na Jeden" that a representative of the bureau offered to drop charges in return for testimony against a certain minister from the Civic Platform - Polish People's Party coalition. Zbigniew Maj has been charged with 10 offenses, among others, for disclosing information in criminal proceedings.

Unexpectedly, the Polish president's visit to the United States lasted one day longer. Andrzej Duda was supposed to land in Warsaw yesterday but due to a technical failure of the plane, he had to stay in Chicago for one more night.

Paweł Pawlikowski has been awarded Best Director in Cannes for his movie "Cold War". He dedicated the movie to the co-writer Janusz Głowacki who passed away in August. The story is loosely based on the lives of Pawlikowski's parents. Set in the 1950s, the movie tells a story of a sophisticated love that happens in the early years of the eponymous Cold War era. The movie stars Tomasz Kot, Agata Kulesza, Joanna Kulig and Borys Szyc.

Legia Warszawa won the Polish championship for the 13th time in the club's history on Sunday after they were granted a 3-0 walkover against Lech Poznan whose supporters threw flares and invaded the pitch.
