Law and Justice members of the verification committee announced on Tuesday they want the commission to notify the prosecutor’s office to examine irregularities regarding the tenement on Poznańska 14 in Warsaw. They claim that there were illegal attempts to sell the apartments belonging to the building.

The shoulder injury suffered by Poland's Kamil Glik will most likely exclude the defender from the squad for the World Cup in Russia as it would take at least six weeks until he is ready to restart training, Poland's team doctor said on Tuesday.

Stanisław Pięta has been suspended as Law and Justice (PiS) member. The decision by the party’s leader Jarosław Kaczyński means that Pięta will also be suspended as a member of the parliamentary club. Police officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation closed an amphetamine laboratory near Grójec in Mazowieckie Voivodeship. They secured over two and a half litres of liquid amphetamine, from which almost four kilograms of ready-to-use drug can be produced. Two people were detained.

Last year's shameful record has been beaten. During the recent long weekend the police stopped over 1.800 drivers under the influence of alcohol. Twenty seven people were killed in road accidents and 600 were injured.

Poland's coach Adam Nawałka has chosen 23 players that will go to Russia for the World Cup. If the injury excludes Glik from the tournament, he will be replaced by Marcin Kamiński.

Almost one hundred firemen were extinguishing the fire at the landfill in Studzianki near Wasilkowo in the Podlasie region. This is another in the string of waste fires in Poland, and yet another one at this particular scrap-heap. The most recent fire here took place last fall. The prosecutor's office failed to find the perpetrators. The heap is several meters high, and the flames are dangerous for the nearby forest.
