"This is an agreement which assumes that we will support a handful of bills important for Kukiz'15, and our colleagues will back the Polish Deal" - Law and Justice party chairman Jarosław Kaczyński said on Monday, announcing programme alliance with Paweł Kukiz. Both politicians presented details of the deal at a joint press conference. Kaczyński added that Kukiz "has plenty of interesting ideas which could improve the quality of Polish democracy and Polish public sphere".
Kukiz'15 and Law and Justice have reached an agreement regarding programme cooperation. Leaders of both parties, Paweł Kukiz and Jarosław Kaczyński presented details of the deal at a press conference on Monday.
"This is an agreement which assumes that we will support a handful of bills important for Kukiz'15, and our colleagues will back the Polish Deal, as well as all what's necessary to ensure the current political arrangement in the Polish parliament lasts" - Kaczyński said. He added that among the bills PiS would support there were those on "anticorruption, referendum day, and justice of the peace". He also informed that the last one "has been already prepared".
PiS leader underscored the agreement reached between his party and Kukiz'15 was important from the substantive point of view, as Paweł Kukiz's party "has has plenty of interesting ideas which could improve the quality of Polish democracy and Polish public sphere".
"We'll take that risk, as sometimes it can be risky, to go ahead with it, of course in a way that's fully in line with the constitution" - Kaczyński said.
He added that support from Kukiz'15 would not only be beneficial in terms of parliamentary majority, but also "in extending of the political and worldview spectrum". "By this I mean worldview of people we'll be able to reach out to, whom we may convince".
Law and Justice chairman stressed he very much hoped for cooperation in that regard, as "Paweł Kukiz's capability to address and convince the people is extraordinary".
"I'd like to share my delight with the fact of signing an programme agreement with Law and Justice. For the first time in six years, a real chance has emerged to introduce systemic changes crucial, in my view, for leading Poland towards becoming a fully democratic state, instead of semi-democratic party state" - Paweł Kukiz said.
"From our point of view, the deal is very beneficial" - he added.
He also said that the Law and Justice party and the United Right coalition "is the only political option at the moment capable to pass and introduce those systemic changes".
"This is one of the most important days of my life. I hope for a fruitful cooperation and for Poland to finally adopt laws that will allow us to say that we are a fully democratic state" - Kukiz concluded.
