Six fire brigades were fighting the flames of the salt graduation tower in Kraków. The fire started after midnight. The police suspects that the construction was deliberately set on fire.

Nine cars were burnt and eleven in total destroyed in Chełmno. The perpetrator may face up to five years in prison for arson. This is yet another crime of this sort as in the previous week, a 14-year-old was caught by the police and admitted to burning ten cars. The boy couldn't rationally explain his motive.

The police detained 17 member of a group that specialised in robbing mainly elderly people by using the so-called policeman scheme. The criminals passed themselves as policeman over the phone and manipulated their victims into handing over their money and valuables, in order to protect it from theft. The court decided to arrest 13 people for a 3-month period. They may face up to ten years in prison. Among the arrested was the group's leader who may face up to 15 years behind bars.

Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council, was back again in court in Warsaw. He testified as witness in the trial of Tomasz Arabski, his former office chief and four other officials, regarding the 2010 Smolensk airplane crash that killed the Polish President, his wife and other top officials. Mr Tusk was Polish prime minister at that time.

Parents of those with disabilities spent yet another day at the Sejm. Now, they're waiting for the Law and Justice Chairman, Jarosław Kaczyński. They've already met with the Prime Minister and President. They are demanding better benefits for those with disabilities and their caretakers.

Krzysztof M. has been charged with attempted murder with intent. In October he allegedly attacked 21-year-old Albert in the centre of Poznań. The young man fell onto the road and was then run over by a car. Despite being in critical condition Albert didn't give up. Nor did his skateboarding friends. They organised a fundraiser for his rehabilitation.
