In Tuesday's announcement, the health ministry informed about 763 new coronavirus cases in Poland. The highest number was reported in the Lesser Poland province.
The numbers in the remaining provinces look as follows: Masovian (99), Pomeranian (93), Silesian (89), Subcarpathian (59), Lódzkie (50), Lower Silesian (44), Greater Poland (32), Kuyavian-Pomeranian (30), Lubelskie (29), Podlaskie (28), Warmian-Masurian (21), Świętokrzyskie (20), West Pomeranian (12), Opolskie (10) and Lubusz (6).
The ministry also informed on Tuesday about the death of further 17 infected persons, aged between 45 and 96. Most of them had co-occurring medical conditions, the ministry added.
Since the start of the pandemic, Poland has reported 63,073 coronavirus infection cases, of which 1,977 ended in deaths of patients.
The highest daily spike in infections was recorded on Friday, August 21, when 903 cases were reported. The next day, on Saturday, 900 cases followed.
