Tomasz Grodzki (Civic Coalition) was chosen on Tuesday to be the Marshal of the Senate of the 10th term. 51 senators voted in favour of candidacy. His rival from PiS, Stanisław Karczewski, received 48 votes. One senator abstained.

A group of Polish far-right supporters scuffled with police in Wrocław late on Monday (November 11) after a march marking Poland's Independence Day was ended by city authorities due to racist remarks. Fourteen people were arrested, 5 were injured, including 3 police officers.

Tens of thousands of Poles took part in a far-right march in the capital Warsaw on Monday to mark Polish independence, an annual event that has become a focus of friction between nationalists and liberals.

The prosecutor has rejected a request by the attorney of Stefan W., accused of murdering the mayor of Gdańsk Paweł Adamowicz, to transfer his client to a hospital ward - the spokesperson for the District Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk, Grażyna Wawryniuk, confirmed on Thursday.

"A newborn girl, most likely born today, has been found in a plastic bag at community gardens," the police informed tvnwarszawa.pl portal. In the late afternoon, a 36-year-old woman was detained in connection to the case.
