"Everything that the previous administration said the new administration is doing it", said Ben Hodges, Commanding General of US Army Europe. "Poland has become our center of gravity for the US Army in Europe ever since the NATO Summit in Warsaw", general Hodges told TVN24 and TVN24 BiS.
"The previous administration said that we would have rotational forces, prepositioned equipment, European Reassurance Initiative, enhance for present battle group," said Hodges in interview with Jacek Stawiski from TVN24 BiS.
"This administration is doing all of that, so everything that the previous administration said the new administration is doing it. Plus adding one billion dollars to the European Reassurance Initiative now called the European Defense Initiative," said general.
"That that kind of commitment is significant, it is real and the President coming, of course, reinforces that. When the United States is serious about something, we put money on it and we put people on it. And so that is what you're seeing in Europe today", added Hodges.

Asked if American troops should stay in Poland for a longer time, Hodges stressed that the security of all NATO members was very important to the United States.
Ben Hodges is Commanding General of US Army Europe. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in May 1980 and was commissioned in the Infantry. After his first assignment as an Infantry Lieutenant in Germany, he commanded Infantry units at the Company, Battalion, and Brigade levels at the 101st Airborne Division and in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. His most recent operational assignment was as Director of Operations, Regional Command South, in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
