"The system is getting back to normal, but at the same time we should be preparing for a potential fourth wave of the pandemic" - Health Minister Adam Niedzielski said on Thursday. He reassured that the current "moment of relief" was being used for training in the scope of using ventilators and working at COVID wards.
Health Minister Adam Niedzielski on Thursday was a special guest of the Council of Experts at the Commissioner for Patients' Rights Office. In a statement released after the meeting, the minister said that Poland's health care has a lot of catching up to do.
"Problems with the system, which we were struggling with before the pandemic, have been accentuated even more during its course. I'm not talking only about staff shortages, but for instance queues as well. Let's not forget that during the pandemic patients were avoiding medical facilities, but now they take old referrals out of drawers and see doctors to get new ones" - Niedzielski was quoted as saying.
The minister added that "the system is getting back to normal, but at the same time we should be preparing for a potential fourth wave of the pandemic".
"That's why we use the moment of relief for training in the scope of ventilators usage and work at COVID wards, and develop the potential of laboratories".
