Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska would be the most demanding opponent for Andrzej Duda in the second round of presidential election - according to a telephone survey conducted by Kantar for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24. The sitting president would secure the best result in confrontation against Robert Biedroń.

In a phone survey by Kantar for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24 conducted on October 17-18, respondents were asked who would they support in the 2020 presidential election, should there be a run-off. Although none of the opposition parties have chosen official candidates yet, the speculation on potential names has already begun.

On of the most often mentioned potential rivals of Andrzej Duda is Donald Tusk.

Should this scenario turned out to be true, former Polish PM would secure 40 percent of votes, whereas the sitting president - 51 percent.

The answer "don't know/hard to say/haven't decided yet" was picked by 9 percent of those asked.

If in the second round of presidential election Andrzej Duda would face Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, the current president would win 48 percent of votes. Civic Coalition's candidate for PM would secure 42 percent.

The leader of the Polish People's Party (PSL), Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has also been mentioned in the pre-election speculation. Andrzej Duda would secure 53 percent of votes in a run-off against the PSL chief, while the latter would win 38 percent.

Robert Biedroń is increasingly often mentioned as the Left's candidate for president. In a run-off against Wiosna (Spring) party leader, Andrzej Duda would receive 56 percent of votes, while his opponent - 35 percent.

Telephone survey by Kantar for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24 was conducted on October 17-18 on a nationwide representative sample of Polish citizens aged 18+. The sample size was 1502 people. Possible accuracy margin was 3 percentage points.
